HACKETTSTOWN, NJ— The Hackettstown Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Maddox Demetri Talmadge, 15, who was reported missing on June 21, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m. Maddox was last seen leaving Marley's Gotham Grill located at 169 Main Street.

Maddox is described as a white man, 5'04″, 115 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and a distinctive mole above his lips. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a t- gray Hollister shirt, gray jeans, white sneakers and sported a red arm mold on his right arm. He also carried a black drawstring backpack.

Anyone with information on Maddox's whereabouts is asked to contact the Hackettstown Police Department at 908-852-3300. Fast and accurate advice could be crucial to ensuring his safe return.

  • Fatal gas-powered bike crash under investigation in Wilmington

    WILMINGTON, DE— A tragic accident involving a gas-powered bicycle resulted in the death of a 22-year-old Wilmington man yesterday afternoon. Delaware State Police are currently investigating the incident.

    The collision occurred around 2:21 p.m. Wednesday on West Newport Pike near Silview Avenue. A gray 2009 Audi A4, driven by a 43-year-old Wilmington woman, was turning right into a private parking lot when it collided with the gas-powered mini-bike that was traveling westbound along the shoulder of the road. The area was cordoned off with construction cones due to active construction, closing the shoulder where the accident occurred.

    The young man riding the bike was ejected upon impact and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. His identity has not been released pending notification of his family.

    The driver of the Audi was unhurt. The incident resulted in the road being closed for approximately two hours to allow for an investigation and clean-up.

    The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is handling the investigation. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to come forward and contact Master Corporal J.     Yonkers building collapse calls for emergency response

    YONKERS, NY— A building collapse at 9 North Broadway led to a major emergency response this morning, just before 11:00 a.m. The incident involved the collapse of a floor and wall on the first level of the building, which fell into the basement below.

    Yonkers Police Department officers quickly secured the area while Yonkers Fire Department personnel evacuated two people from a third-floor apartment using a tower ladder. These residents were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and fortunately did not suffer any serious injuries.

    Multiple agencies, including the Yonkers Office of Emergency Management, the City of Yonkers Department of Housing and Buildings, the Red Cross and Con Edison, are on scene to assess the situation and ensure public safety. Utilities have been disconnected and the structural integrity of the building is being thoroughly evaluated.

    Road closures are in effect around the site, with North Broadway closed from Main Street to Manor House Square and Main Street closed from Palisade Avenue to Warburton Avenue until further notice. Updates on the condition of the building are expected to be provided by the agencies involved as more information becomes available throughout the day.

  • Man accused of using illegal weapon on Key Highway

    BALTIMORE, MD—A 20-year-old man was arrested for handgun violations during a vehicle stop by officers in the Central District. The incident happened around 9:09 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Key Highway.

    Officers, engaged in efforts to prevent thefts in the Inner Harbor area, stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver had an active arrest warrant. During the check, officers also recovered property related to the suspect.

    Following the discovery, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Central District Booking Receiving Center for processing.

    This summer, Brick, NJ Recreation is excited to introduce two new art programs designed for young artists ages 13-18. These programs aim to nurture creativity and provide hands-on experience with mural and acrylic painting.

    The Magic of Mural Painting: Community Art

    This program invites participants to engage in the creation of a large-scale mural, contributing to a collaborative community artwork. The course covers basic painting techniques, mixing acrylic paint, and the process of designing and executing a public mural. Classes will run July 15-25, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Civic Plaza. The participation fee is $125.

    Adventures in acrylic painting

    Focused on acrylic painting, this program will teach various techniques and approaches for using acrylic in creative ways. Starting with color theory and mixing, the course will guide students through the process of painting one landscape, then a second painting of their choice with the support of an instructor. Two sessions are available: the first from July 15 to 19 and the second from July 22 to 26, both from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Civic Plaza. Each session costs $75.

    These programs are perfect for teens looking to explore artistic expression or hone their skills in a supportive, creative environment.
