G&S Foods opens a massive production facility near Hanover, Pennsylvania.

“If you build it,” said Ed Good, president of G&S Foods, “they will come.”

It's no surprise, with this in mind, that G&S Foods' new facility in Conewago Township is a gargantuan 348,344 square feet.

With so much space, Good said, the new facility will allow the company to expand its manufacturing offerings, allowing the brand to grow and attract new partners.

G&S Foods, a Hanover-area contract packager and private label snack food brand, recently cut the ribbon on the new facility located on North Blettner Avenue in Conewago Township, just outside Hanover.

The new location, located not far from Wege Pretzel in Hannover and opposite Utz and Snyders, brings the company even closer to the heart of the “snack food capital of America”, as Hannover is called.

Previously, G&S Foods operated out of a plant just north of Hanover in Abbottstown. Construction of the new facility took more than two years, Good said.

The facility also allows the company to consolidate all of its production, warehousing, product development and administration offices under one roof, thereby streamlining the company's operations.

On one side of the factory the production of sweet and savory snacks will take place, while on the other side the coating of these products in chocolate, fudge, yogurt and other products will take place, enabling seamless coordination between the two very different manufacturing processes. .

At the grand opening, company executives highlighted the company's efforts to keep facilities and contractors local.

“We are proud to invest in the Hanover community,” Morgan said.

This includes the project's main contractor, Conewago Enterprises, which is based in the same Conewago Township where the new plant resides.
