A fast-moving grass fire threatened homes in Orangevale Wednesday morning, the Sacramento Metro Fire District said. Multiple units, with assistance from the Folsom Fire Department, responded to reports of vegetation fires at Beech and Kingdale avenues around 10 a.m. held on three acres, thus saving several houses. No injuries were reported during the incident. According to Sac Metro, the fire started from a lawn mower on the property. ORANGEVALE, Calif. —

A fast-moving grass fire threatened homes in Orangevale Wednesday morning, the Sacramento Metro Fire District said.

Multiple units, with assistance from the Folsom Fire Department, responded to reports of vegetation fires at Beech and Kingdale avenues around 10 a.m.

Authorities said the fire grew to three acres, saving several homes.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

According to Sac Metro, the fire started from a lawn mower on the property.

Officials advise against mowing grass once the air has warmed in the morning or on windy days.
