GoFundMe after Julian Wood dies after being stabbed in front of Giant Eagle

North Olmsted police said it was shortly after 3 p.m. Monday when Julian and his mother, Margot Wood, 38, were stabbed in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle.

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — A GoFundMe quickly raised more than $120,000 for the family of 3-year-old Julian Wood, who was killed in a double stabbing outside a giant eagle in North Olmsted more early this week.

You can donate to GoFundMe HERE. Fundraising had topped $115,000 as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, rising to $120,315 as of 11:48 a.m.

North Olmsted police said it was shortly after 3 p.m. Monday when Julian and his mother, Margot Wood, 38, were stabbed in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle in the 27200 block of Lorain Road.

Both were taken to a hospital for treatment, but the Cuyahoga County medical examiner's office said Julian died from his injuries. Margot is expected to make a full recovery, according to police.

When officers responded to the situation, they found the suspect – identified as Bionca Ellis of Cleveland – walking towards Dover Center Road, holding a knife. She was taken into custody without incident.

As police continue their investigation, they said it appears to have been a “random act of violence” given that Ellis had no interactions with the victims before the attack at the knife.

She was charged with aggravated murder and appeared in Rocky River Municipal Court earlier this week.
