Fire burns on La Cueva ridge; the cause of the fire is unknown

The Glorieta wildfire broke out in the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District. The fire is located on La Cueva Ridge, southeast of Thompson Peak. Firefighters say the fire burned about a quarter of an acre. The cause of the fire is not known, but lightning was detected in the area earlier this week. Residents near Glorieta may be able to see smoke from this fire.
