A minute's silence was observed in honor of the teenager during the ceremony.

Niketic died three weeks ago when his car was struck by a speeding Mustang. The driver of the Mustang, Taeyoung Kim, was charged with reckless homicide and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Niketic's funeral took place at the St. Sava Monastery last month. Father Darko Spasojevic said Marko was an active and valued member of the church.

“He was always smiling, very open, very intelligent, really gifted,” Spasojevic said at the funeral. “A common theme is that he had the energy and charisma to bring kids and people together.”
