Glenaqua Swim Club shares statement following teen's medical emergency at pool on Thursday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Leaders at the Fort Wayne private pool where a teenager was left in life-threatening condition following a medical emergency Thursday afternoon shared a statement on the incident.

Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) PIO Jeremy Webb said first responders were called to the Glenaqua Swim Club near Reed Road and Vance Avenue around 1 p.m. a possible drowning at the swimming pool. Webb says a teenager had a “medical emergency” and paramedics arrived as rescuers were performing CPR on the boy. He was last reported to be in life-threatening condition.

Glenaqua officials posted on Facebook Friday morning that the pool remained closed through Friday and said they could not share information about the incident while the investigation continued.
