Giuliani's son hasn't told him about his alleged relationship

Rudy Giuliani's son has not spoken to him because of the former New York mayor and Trump lawyer's alleged relationship with his podcast co-host, according to a secret recording submitted to the court.

In the recording, Giuliani can be heard telling an employee: “All my friends think I'm crazy. My son doesn't talk to me anymore.”

Giuliani was referring to his alleged relationship with his podcast co-host, Maria Ryan, and his continued good relationship with her husband, Bob Ryan.

The recording was made on December 19, 2019, by Giuliani employee Noelle Dunphy, and a transcript was submitted to the court as part of her $10 million sexual harassment lawsuit against the former mayor.

Giuliani had spent Thanksgiving with the Ryans for the second year in a row and Rudy's son, Andrew Giuliani, did not approve, the former Trump lawyer told Dunphy.

News week On Monday, we requested comment via email from Rudy Giuliani, Andrew Giuliani, Maria Ryan and Bob Ryan.

In the recording, made on Dunphy's iPhone just a week before Christmas, Rudy Giuliani also says his son warned him he would never speak to him again if he spent Christmas with the Ryans.

“This is the second Thanksgiving we've done this. He (Andrew Giuliani) said, 'If you do it on Christmas, I'll never talk to you again.'”

Dunphy responds, “Andrew wants you with him.”

Giuliani then says that Andrew fears that Bob Ryan will finally snap: “No, Andrew, Andrew thinks he's crazy.”

When Dunphy responds, “He wants to protect you,” Giuliani tells him, “He (Andrew) thinks he's crazy. He said, 'One day he's going to kill you.'”

Dunphy then says, “Well, I can't decide…” and Giuliani continues, “No, I don't think he's going to kill me. I don't think he's going to kill me. is just weird.”

At the time of recording, Rudy Giuliani was preparing to work as legal counsel for former President Donald Trump's 2020 re-election campaign. Andrew Giuliani worked in the Trump administration as a special advisor to the president.

Maria Ryan's credit card bill is at the heart of Rudy Giuliani's current bankruptcy case.

In the recordings, Giuliani appears to be heard saying, “…she loves me. But she can't leave her family, including her husband.” He also suggests that he still maintains a friendship with Ryan's husband, which Giuliani says is “the strangest thing.”

Lawyers for Giuliani's creditors have called Ryan Giuliani's “reported girlfriend” in bankruptcy filings and have repeatedly questioned whether she was involved in hiding Giuliani's assets, a claim she strongly denies.

Lawyers suggested that Ryan's relationship with Giuliani prompted her to hide her assets or hide her assets from her creditors.

Ryan said News week on June 18: “I'm not his girlfriend. I consider him one of my best friends.”

Giuliani declared bankruptcy after a jury awarded $148 million to two Georgia election officials who won a defamation lawsuit against him. As Trump's lawyer in 2020, Giuliani falsely alleged that his mother and daughter Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss committed voter fraud during the counting of ballots in Fulton County.

Michael Ragusa, Giuliani's security chief, said News week on June 17 that Ryan is not Giuliani's girlfriend and that the two are just business partners.

“Dr. Maria Ryan is Mayor Giuliani's business partner and nothing more. All reports of her being his girlfriend are false rumors made up by the Mayor's enemies to damage his reputation and everyone associated with him ” Ragusa said.

However, during the December 19, 2019 taping, Giuliani reportedly said of Ryan: “She has this huge connection to her family and she loves me. But she can't leave her family, including her husband.”

He then says that there is no discomfort between him and Maria Ryan's husband.

“So, I had Thanksgiving dinner with them again. Bob (Ryan) did Thanksgiving
dinner for me. Then last Sunday, Maria got sick for about four days and she was in the hospital… Do you know who brought her home from the hospital? Bob and I.”

Giuliani also remembers Maria Ryan saying that she and Giuliani could get married and that Bob Ryan could live with them because he and Giuliani got along so well. In the tape, Giuliani said Maria Ryan told him, “If we got married, could Bob live — could Bob live with us?” You two seem – you two seem to get along so well. »

Giuliani then remarks: “You know, it's true.”

He later told Dunphy: “But it's the strangest thing. We've had this affair for two years and I'm friends with her husband. I can't even understand it.”

A court reporter who transcribed the recording certified to the court that the transcript was a “true and accurate account of the proceedings.”
