Girl, 16, killed, another teen seriously injured when Honda hits scooter in New York: cops

A 16-year-old girl died Tuesday when a Honda Pilot clipped the back of the scooter she was on in the Bronx — in a crash that also seriously injured the scooter's teenage driver.

Cops found the two scooter-riding teens unconscious and unresponsive with severe head and body trauma when they arrived at the crash site at West 192nd Street and University Avenue around noon, according to New York police. York.

The girl could not be saved, police said.

The 19-year-old man riding the scooter was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

It is not known how the two teenagers knew each other.

The 22-year-old man driving the Honda remained at the scene.

He was not facing any charges as of Tuesday afternoon.
