Geneva men plead guilty to shooting, stabbing at Auburn bar

Two Geneva men have pleaded guilty to a shooting and stabbing outside Harley's Pub in Auburn last November. Angelo L. Diaz III, 27, admitted attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Matthew Williams-McIntyre, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the Cayuga County Prosecutor's Office, both men will be sentenced on August 22. Diaz faces 10 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision on each charge, served concurrently. Williams-McIntyre is expected to be sentenced to 4.5 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

The charges stem from a Nov. 29 incident in which Diaz shot a victim, causing serious injury. An investigation revealed that Williams-McIntyre transported the handgun from Pennsylvania and handed it to Diaz, who fired it through a vehicle window.
