'General Hospital' Actor Johnny Wactor Shot Dead During Alleged Robbery Attempt

Best known for playing Brando Corbin on the daytime soap opera, Wactor was 37 years old.

Johnny Wactor, an actor best known for playing Brando Corbin in General Hospital, was shot and killed on May 25 in Los Angeles when three men allegedly tried to steal the catalytic converter from his car, PEOPLE has confirmed. Wactor was 37 years old.

According to KABC, his mother, Sharon Wactor, said he was leaving work at a downtown rooftop bar when he saw what appeared to be someone working on his car. Thinking his car was being towed, he approached the man who she said then opened fire without warning.

LAPD confirmed to Weekly Entertainment that around 3:25 a.m., a “white man, aged 30 to 35” was the victim of an attempted robbery at the same location.

Three suspects fled in a vehicle and paramedics took Wactor to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Charleston native began his acting career in 2007, appearing in minor roles in Military wivesand over the years he appeared on shows such as NCIS, The OAAnd Western world. In 2020, he landed the recurring role of Brandon Corbin in General Hospitalrunning 164 episodes until 2022.

He recently appeared in films Supercell And Dead Discussion Tales Vol. 1 and the series Barbee Rehabilitation And Station 19. Wactor also had a few upcoming projects, including the film American sognarewhich is currently in post-production.
