Gas City woman arrested after meth, guns and syringes found in her home

GAS CITY, Ind. — A woman was arrested on several criminal charges related to the possession and distribution of methamphetamine during a probation check at a Gas City residence last week.

Officers with the Gas City Police Department were called to a home after being notified by the Grant County Probation Department that narcotics may have been detected during a probation check that took place on April 13 June.


GCPD said the substance found in the residence later tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers then executed a search warrant at the same residence after a Grant County judge approved their request.

Officers subsequently discovered the following during the search:

  • About 14 ounces of meth
  • Prescription medications
  • Syringes
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Two guns
  • $396 cash

The suspect, identified as Hayley Carmack, 31, was arrested and transported to the Grant County Security Complex on the following preliminary charges:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamine, level 2 misdemeanor
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony
  • Possession of a Legendary Drug, Level 6 Felony
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Level 6 Felony
  • Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Level 5 Misdemeanor
  • Possession of paraphernalia, misdemeanor
