Gang: 12 people arrested for carrying weapons | Chennai News

Chennai: City police have arrested 12 goons, most of them associates of gangster Arumbakkam Radhakrishnan, who is currently in jail. The suspects were apprehended at gunpoint after police were informed they were carrying weapons. Based on intelligence information, police raided their hideout and seized five knives from the gang. According to police, the gang had hatched a plan to kill three individuals, including a lawyer from Koyambedu, and was waiting for an opportunity to carry out their plan. The gang was arrested and questioned in a secluded location. During interrogation, they revealed that their main target was a witness, an accomplice of a rowdy person, whom the lawyer planned to produce before the Thiruvottiyur court in connection with an ongoing criminal trial. Further investigations are underway to gather more details about the plot.
