Funeral and procession honors 3-year-old North Olmsted boy murdered at Giant Eagle

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) – Funeral services for the murdered three-year-old North Olmsted boy are planned for Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Parma.

Julian “JuJu” Wood's was stabbed to death on June 3 after a “random act of violence.”

Julian's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the church at 5891 Ridge Road.

The GoFundMe organized to support the Wood family is asking those who wish to show their support to follow the funeral procession route at 11:45 a.m., dressed in green or anything dinosaur-related in Julian's honor.

According to GoFundMe, the route is as follows:

  1. Church of Saint Charles Borromeo; 5891 Ridge Road Parma OH 44129
  2. Turn right and continue north on Ridge
  3. Turn left onto Snow Rd and continue west.
  4. Turn right on Smith (W. 150th) and continue north.
  5. Turn left onto Brookpark Road. and drive west
  6. Turn left onto Great Northern Blvd and continue south.
  7. Great Northern Blvd turns into Columbia Rd.
  8. Sunset Memorial Park; 6625 Columbia Road North Olmsted 44070

19 Information will be broadcast outside the church and the procession.

According to Julian's obituary, he is survived by his parents, Jared and Margot, and his siblings, John and Emilia.

Julian was with his mother when they were attacked.

Margot was also injured, but survived.

North Olmsted police arrested Bionca Ellis, 32, of Cleveland, minutes after the attack as she walked on Dover Center Road with the knife allegedly used in the attack.

According to North Olmsted Police Det. Sgt. Matthew Beck and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley, Ellis stole two knives from the Volunteers of America thrift store next to Giant Eagle.

She then allegedly entered Giant Eagle, spotted the victims exiting and followed them, immediately stabbing Julian, who was sitting in the shopping cart.

Margot was stabbed as she tried to pull Julian out of the grocery cart, O'Malley said.

Ellis was indicted on several counts, including aggravated murder.

“This case is truly devastating. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Wood family during this difficult time. As a father, I could not imagine this heartbreak, but I can promise that we will do everything in our power to bring justice to Julian Wood and the Wood family.

Ellis is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Monday, June 10.
