Front desk worker spots fire on security camera at Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa

One person was hospitalized early Tuesday after a fire broke out at a historic Cape Cod inn. A front desk employee at the Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa on Main Street in Sandwich spotted the fire on a security camera just before 1 a.m. and called 911. When firefighters arrived, they said they discovered a fire at the rear of the building, outside the kitchen, which was spreading up the side of the building. Officials said all occupants of the inn were evacuated and moved to other parts of the building when the fire was extinguished. One person was transported to Cape Cod Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The inn has provided accommodation to guests for more than 300 years, according to the inn's website.
