Friends identify Bills fan shot near Hard Rock Stadium after Dolphins game

UPDATE: Cops question man in murder of Bills fan after Miami Dolphins game, police say

The man shot and killed near Hard Rock Stadium after Sunday night's Miami Dolphins game was identified by those close to him as a 30-year-old Buffalo Bills fan who came to watch his beloved team.

Dylan Isaacs and his friends were walking through traffic — presumably toward a parked car — after watching the Bills defeat the Dolphins in the AFC East title game, when a driver slammed into his car in an attempt to hit them and fled, Ashley Cooke, a family friend, said during an online fundraiser. The family is trying to cover the cost of transporting Isaacs' body to Six Nations, Canada, the largest First Nations reserve in Canada, home to the Mohawk, Cayagua and other nations.

After Isaacs and his friends ran after the car, Cooke said, an as-yet-unidentified man got out of the vehicle and shot him before driving off.

The car the shooter fled in was found in West Palm Beach, about 60 miles from the stadium, Miami Gardens police said. As of Tuesday morning, authorities had not announced any arrests in connection with the fatal shooting.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for anonymous information leading to the arrest of the man who shot and killed Isaacs.

A “senseless murder”

At approximately 11:55 p.m. Sunday, shortly after the game ended, Miami-Dade police officers assigned to the Dolphins game at Miami Gardens Stadium rushed to the 19400 block of 27th Avenue Northwest after receiving reports of fire. Police and paramedics attempted to save Isaacs' life, but he died at the scene, Miami Gardens police said.

According to the Miami-Dade Fire Department, no one was taken to the hospital.

Miami Gardens police have not confirmed Cooke's account of what happened, but they said a man shot Isaacs after he argued with them.

Isaacs posted a photo of himself smiling with two other people at the stadium on Facebook hours before the shooting. His profile indicates that he lived in Hollywood.
