Fourth suspect arrested in suspected gang-related home invasion robbery in Bloomington – San Bernardino Sun

A fourth suspect was arrested in a March home invasion robbery in Bloomington that investigators believe was part of a series of such robberies as well as assaults and extortion crimes, authorities announced on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, June 11, sheriff's investigators arrested Vincent Solarez, 58, of Upland, in connection with the home invasion in which two people were robbed of $12,500 in cash and one was assaulted with a firearm, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a statement. A press release.

Tuesday morning, detectives located Solarez driving a vehicle near Campus Avenue and Washington Boulevard in Upland and arrested him after a traffic stop.

Solarez was arrested on suspicion of theft, kidnapping to commit theft, false imprisonment and conspiracy to commit a felony. He was being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $1 million bail, according to San Bernardino County jail logs.

The home invasion took place on March 12 around 3 a.m. Two victims, a man and a woman, were awakened at gunpoint by armed suspects in the 18000 block of Valley Boulevard in Bloomington, according to a sheriff's news release.

The man was whipped with a gun and dragged to his office while the woman was held against her will.

The thieves took cash, video surveillance footage from the residence and a victim's vehicle.

Investigators previously identified Marcos Guerrero, 48, of Glendora; Elijah Gafare, 35, of West Covina, and Cynthia Leal, 38, of Ontario, are the suspects involved in the robbery, according to the press release.

According to the sheriff's release, Guerrero and Leal were arrested at an apartment located in the 1000 block of East Foothill Boulevard in Glendora. Gafare was arrested at a residence in the 700 block of South Manzanita Drive in West Covina.

All three were arrested May 30 on suspicion of robbery, assault with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a felony, and booked into the West Valley Detention Center, the release said.

Investigators believe all four suspects have ties to gangs in the Inland Empire and are responsible for other unreported home invasions, assaults and extortion of local business owners, according to the sheriff's news release.
