'Four young women stabbed at AMC movie theater' in Braintree as suspect flees to Massachusetts

Several people were stabbed in a movie theater on Saturday and dozens of police officers arrived at the chaotic scene.

An AMC movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts, has been closed following reports of a mass stabbing.

Four young women were stabbed by a man inside one of the theaters, ABC affiliate WCVB-TV reported.

A source told the outlet that the victims were taken to the South Shore. Hospital one of them was seriously injured in the arm.

All four victims are expected to survive, the source said.

The Braintree Police Department told the US Sun that the case remains under active investigation.

However, police have not confirmed further details.

Patrons at other theaters told the outlet that the movies they were watching suddenly stopped and they were asked to leave the building.

The suspect is reportedly in custody following another reported stabbing in nearby Plymouth, according to WCVB-TV.

The stabbing allegedly took place in a McDonald's rest area, leading to a high-speed chase that ended in a violent crash.

A person was stabbed McDonalds around 7:00 p.m. before the suspect took off in a Porsche, CapeCod.com reported.
