Four suspects arrested in Tulare County in major drug, weapons bust

Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Wednesday that four suspects were arrested in Tulare County in a major bust.

The investigation was part of Operation Armed & Prohibited Persons System (APPS).

This began when a topic was determined to be prohibited through the APPS database.

Further investigation eventually revealed additional illegal activities, leading to the arrest of a group of suspects involved in significant illicit drug trafficking and manufacturing activities.

The TARGET Task Force and the Tulare County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Task Force, in a coordinated effort with the Department of Defense's Fresno Regional Firearms Office California Justice; Tulare County Sheriff's Office; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; United States Drug Enforcement Administration; Visalia Police Department; Porterville Police Department; Tulare Police Department; and the Kings County Sheriff's Office, executed multiple arrest warrants in the Town of Tulare and the unincorporated community of Goshen.

Through the search warrants, law enforcement was able to find and confiscate two shotguns, four rifles and six handguns and also found approximately 20 large capacity magazines and 14 standard capacity magazines, more than 2,200 live cartridges, 150 pounds of liquid codeine. , approximately 200 pounds of marijuana and concentrated cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy, a hash oil laboratory and a large sum of money.

According to Bonta's office, four suspects were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail.

They now face charges related to carrying an assault weapon, possession of a controlled substance for sale and child abuse.

This case has been referred to the Tulare County Prosecutor's Office for prosecution.
