Four girls stabbed in Massachusetts movie theater attack

Four girls were injured after an attacker entered a Massachusetts movie theater and stabbed them Saturday.

The suspect, whose identity is not available, entered one of the cinemas without paying on Saturday around 6 p.m. local time and “without saying anything and without any warning, he suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young women “, said the Braintree, Massachusetts. , the police department said in a statement regarding the incident.

The girls, aged nine to 17, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transferred to hospitals in Boston, according to police.

Police said the attack “did not appear to be provoked.”

Following the attack at the AMC Braintree Theater, the suspect ran and left the scene in a black SUV.

Law enforcement said the same suspect may have been involved in a previous assault in Plymouth, Massachusetts, located less than 30 miles from Braintree. Massachusetts State Police were involved in a chase after which the vehicle crashed in Sandwich, Massachusetts, about 45 miles from Braintree, the Braintree Police Department said Saturday evening. The driver was taken into custody.

Law enforcement was able to obtain the license plate number using video footage after the Braintree incident.

The suspect may also be linked to a murder investigation in Connecticut, CBS Boston reported Saturday, citing multiple sources. Law enforcement described him as dangerous and possibly possessing a 10-inch knife, according to CBS Boston.
