Four dead in Georgia home shooting, police investigating possible murder-suicide

Four people were killed Saturday in a suspected murder-suicide in Coweta County, Georgia, authorities said.

Deputies responding to multiple calls shortly after 1 a.m. found two bodies in the driveway and one in the front door of a home on Crabapple Court, the county sheriff's office said.

When deputies arrived, a fourth person ran into the residence, after which a gunshot rang out, the Coweta County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. post on X.

A SWAT team secured the area and police later found the body of the fourth person inside the home, the sheriff's office said. The office is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released, pending notification of their families.

A neighbor told NBC affiliate WXIA in Atlanta that she heard a loud noise she initially mistook for thunder around 12:30 a.m. “I live right around the corner,” Brandi Wright told the station. “It’s just crazy. You can’t even stay in your own home anymore.”

The Coweta County Sheriff's Office said it will provide more information as the investigation unfolds.
