Fortnite's 'underrated' weapons destroyed in Chapter 5 Season 3

While Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 introduced a bunch of new weapons and items, one “underrated” piece of gear can hit like a truck and send your enemy back to the lobby.

With new weapons being introduced each season, Fortnite's meta is constantly evolving. Earlier this season, cars and Nitro Fists were dominating the Battle Royale, so much so that players were calling for the return of certain items to help counter them.

The Tow Hook Cannon is one of the latest additions designed to counter vehicles in the game. While it may not be as popular as the EMP Shield Breaker or the recently scrapped Boogie Bombs for stopping a car, it can certainly be viable in combat, as one player has shown.

“Don’t sleep on the Tow Hook Cannon; it’s never the wrong weapon for the job,” one player wrote in a Reddit thread, featuring a clip of them winning a 1v1 using the Tow Hook Cannon.

Even though the enemy was using nitro fists to move, the player was able to land his blows and take them down in just a few hits. And just like that, they were eliminated and sent home.

“Not a bad choice when competing against Nitro Fist…don't miss out!” one player commented.

Granted, acquiring a target with the Tow Hook Cannon can be difficult since it's a projectile weapon, but the amount of damage it deals certainly pays off.

“Incredible damage, but it's a pain to aim with. I've been carrying it since I won a game with it as my last weapon though… everything else needed reloading, and the last guy was right on top of me; I hit him with the tow hook and got the crown,” another mentioned.

“Knockback is underrated. I love using it when fighting on hills to create an instant advantage on high ground (or sometimes just to eliminate fall damage),” added one player.

It can be a pain to miss your shots if things are a bit chaotic. However, if you have friends with you and can tease the enemy from afar, it can turn the tide of the match – provided you land your shots, of course.
