Fortnite Season 3 Reveals John Wick's AR and Gives Him a Major Buff

Fortnite Season 3 launches the next chapter of Epic Games' battle royale with a fiery selection of weapons, vehicles and mythical items with which to roam the wasteland. However, only one weapon is still standing at present, and it's a real Fortnite classic: the tactical assault rifle. Keanu Reeves' On-Screen Assassin's Favorite Weapon John Wick comes back, and it's better than ever.

Rejoice, John Wick fans, the best AR in gaming is finally back in Fortnite. Epic Games has revealed the Tactical Assault Rifle, but not without some significant changes since it was last available in the ever-popular multiplayer game. One of the best features of this weapon is dealing damage from a distance, and you can now rely on this to take down enemies with force. Here's what Epic is tweaking when it comes to the weapon's stats:

  • Increased damage over long distances
  • Reduced recoil
  • Reduced bullet spread

Now you can beam targets at a distance with great accuracy, while enjoying the benefits of reduced recoil and bullet spread. Based on our experience with the weapon from the latest season of the Battle Royale game, the Tactical Assault Rifle is a must-have weapon for your arsenal due to its solid rate of fire and reliable accuracy. Although it is intended for medium and long range skirmishes, it can also defend you decently in close quarters combat.

Weapon modding is also still available, so you can customize the AR to your liking. However, if you need some guidance, adding an FPS gaming style viewfinder and a quick-change magazine is a pretty powerful combination for securing the double. Add the new Nitro Splash for some speed and temporary immunity to fall damage, and you'll be just as unstoppable as John Wick himself.

Before its reappearance in the latest Fortnite patch notes, the Tactical Assault Rifle was introduced in May 2019, alongside the debut of the John Wick skin, to celebrate the release of Chapter 3 of John Wick: Parabellum. The weapon is based on the appearance of the JW3 TTI MPX, which notably appears in The Continental Battle of the film's third act. Since then, the John Wick skin has been updated to include variants based on Keanu Reeves' image in Chapter 4.

However, the only skin the game still needs is a Neo skin from The Matrix. The emotes and weapon skins are from the Matrix Resurrections crossover, so where is Neo? Sigh.

In other gaming news, XDefiant will soon fix its hit recording for maximum accuracy, and Xbox is reportedly set to reveal the next DOOM game at its upcoming showcase.
