Fort Worth apartment fire leaves 24 displaced – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A blazing fire tore through a Fort Worth apartment complex Friday night, forcing two dozen people from their homes, authorities said.

The Fort Worth Fire Department first reported the fire at 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

When crews responded to the 8200 block of Porsche Drive, they found heavy flames coming from the roof of a two-story building.

Firefighters said the fire remained at one-alarm stage, but two additional engines were called to the scene to assist.

According to Fort Worth Fire, 18 adults and six children were displaced by the fire. Four apartments were destroyed and other homes suffered smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross of Greater North Texas is providing emergency assistance to displaced people, officials said.

No injuries were reported from the fire, which remains under investigation.
