Former Troutdale teacher sentenced to prison for enticement of minors

Edward Hernandez-Corchado, 27, was a social studies teacher at Reynolds High School when he was arrested following an investigation into online sexual predators.

According to court documents, in November 2022, a Bend police officer created a Snapchat account to pose as a 15-year-old child. During the investigation, Hernandez-Corchado shared a “sexually explicit communication” and arranged a plan to meet the child at a Target in Bend, so he could take her to a hotel.

On November 11, 2022, Hernandez-Corchado traveled to Bend to meet the child and was intercepted and arrested by law enforcement. After his arrest, Hernandez-Corchado admitted that he had frequent explicit sexual communications with underage girls online, that he possessed child pornography, and that he had previously met and had sex with two minors in Salem, according to the press release.

A federal grand jury later indicted Hernandez-Corchado with attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. In early January, he pleaded guilty.

Hernandez-Corchado was sentenced to 120 months, or 10 years in prison, and 10 years of supervised release.
