Former Spartanburg fire captain dies

The Spartanburg Fire Department announced the death of a former fire captain Monday. Retired Captain Willie Eddie Browning Sr. served the City of Spartanburg for 26 years, from November 3, 1972 to December 30, 1998. “Captain Browning was a loyal, resolute firefighter, company officer and ultimately served as a fire inspector. fires at Spring St. Fire Station 1 in his retirement, Captain Browning will be deeply missed. Please join us in praying for the Browning family,” SFD said.

The Spartanburg Fire Department announced that a former fire captain died Monday.

Retired Captain Willie Eddie Browning Sr. served the City of Spartanburg for 26 years, from November 3, 1972 to December 30, 1998.
