Former police officer turned model among two men arrested in Orange County

A former police officer turned Instagram model is among two women recently arrested for allegedly working together to extort $9,000 from a small cosmetology business.

Ally Thueson, 33, of Montgomery, is accused of threatening to publicly make false statements online about the business unless the owner paid, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Thueson is a former deputy with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, according to prosecutors, and most recently worked as a police officer in the town of Woodbury. Woodbury Police Chief Kevin Watson said she resigned in 2021.

In 2022, Thueson was interviewed for the podcast “Off-Duty”, in an episode titled “I Thrive In Chaos”, while she was nominated for Maxim magazine's 2022 Covergirl competition.

Authorities say Thueson engaged in this behavior after her service as a law enforcement officer with co-defendant Elizabeth Sloanhoffer, 33, of Montgomery.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the duo threatened to slander, report fictitious violations to the New York State Board of Cosmetology and file complaints with the Department of Labor for alleged violations of employees against a company that were false.

Both were charged by the Orange County White Collar Crime Task Force with robbery and coercion and were released with a court appearance notice.

News 12 reached out to Thueson and Sloanhoffer for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
