Former NFL player Daniel Muir's 14-year-old son has been missing for weeks as police investigate disturbing abuse allegations

Authorities in Indiana have spent the past two weeks searching for Bryson Muir, the missing 14-year-old son of former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Daniel Muir.

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert Friday for Bryson, who was last seen by relatives June 16, with his mother driving him away from his grandmother's house in the 'Ohio.

Minutes after Bryson's mother left, Indiana State Police said her vehicle was stopped by local police, who said the boy was nowhere to be found.

Authorities recently opened an investigation into the teen's parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, after his grandmother provided authorities with a photo allegedly showing the boy's eye blackened and swollen.

Bryson, who is 6'2″ and weighs about 180 pounds, is believed to be in immediate danger. He was last seen wearing an orange Under Armour T-shirt and blue jeans.

His parents have been named persons of interest in the case.

Local reports claim that the former NFL player and his wife told cops they would take Bryson to Indianapolis State Police headquarters to meet with detectives and prove he was okay. However, they “backed out” of that deal an hour before, which state police say “signaled a refusal to cooperate.”

The Muirs live in Logansport, on land owned by Straitway Truth Ministries, a Tennessee-based religious sect that some have called a cult.

The Straitway Truth Ministries website claims the group is a “nation of Hebrew Israelites who are commandment keepers; obedient to Yahweh and our Savior, Jesus the Christ. We are blessed to have a dynamic deliverance ministry and life-changing truth from a true Jeremiah 3:15 pastor.”

In 2020, Sports Illustrated reported on Straitway Truth Ministries and how former NFL players, like Green Bay Packers legend Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, had joined the group after renouncing their Christian faith.

Muir's career began in Indianapolis in 2008. He then joined the New York Jets for the 2012–13 season before ending his career after spending the 2013–14 season with the Oakland Raiders.
