Former Eastern Kentucky Prosecutor Ronnie Goldy Sentenced

MOREHEAD, Ky. (FOX 56) — A former Kentucky prosecutor convicted of performing legal favors in exchange for sexual photos has been sentenced.

Ronnie Goldy Jr., former commonwealth's attorney for Bath, Menifee, Montgomery and Rowan counties, was convicted on 14 counts, including bribery and wire fraud.

The charges related to using his position as a Commonwealth Attorney to perform official actions, exert pressure and influence others to perform official actions for the benefit of a woman with whom he had a sexual and personal relationship.

Goldy allegedly exchanged 230 pages of Facebook messages with the accused. Goldy testified on September 8, 2023, and was told he did not remember sending the messages, but he did not deny sending them.

The woman testified that in exchange for photos, Goldy withdrew the arrest warrants and continued with business. She also said she had sex with the prosecutor.

According to an indictment, the woman asked Goldy for money for gas. After sending the money, he wrote to her: “Now your turn. Lol.”; “Don’t leave me hanging”; and you are
kill me.” The woman then sent eight sexually explicit images.

Goldy was sentenced Friday to 41 months in prison.
