Former Butler resident to serve 15 years for drug trafficking, gun crimes

(WJET/WFXP) – A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and gun crimes.

United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand imposed the sentence on Darnell Wynn, 44, who previously resided in Butler, Pennsylvania.


According to information provided to the court, Wynn was identified as the shooter during an incident that resulted in multiple calls to law enforcement on February 15, 2021. Laboratory tests later confirmed that Wynn was the shooter of this incident.

Following this incident, a search warrant was executed on Wynn's car. Police found a .40 caliber handgun loaded with ammunition, pistol magazines, 170 grams of heroin, 39 grams of a mixture of fluorofentanyl and fentanyl and Wynn's debit card.

Wynn was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing heroin, 10 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing fluorofentanyl and fentanyl and possession of a firearm in connection with this drug trafficking crime.

The Butler City Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration were commended for their investigation that led to charges against Wynn.
