Former ASU athlete arrested for allegedly assaulting woman

Tevin Favor, a former ASU football player, was arrested in 2018 for allegedly assaulting a woman. He was arrested again on a similar charge in Paradise Valley.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — A man previously acquitted of a sexual assault charge in 2020 has been arrested again on similar allegations in Paradise Valley.

Former Arizona State University football player Tevin Favor was arrested on June 5 for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on April 21.

Court records show the woman told police that Favor, 32, was her personal trainer and that she invited her to a party at a football player's house. During the party, the woman claimed Favor continued to serve her alcohol and began touching her.

The woman told police she asked the suspect to stop and then woke up with him on top of her, records show. During the alleged assault, the woman texted a friend to come help her. The friend took her out of the room and they took an Uber home.

Text messages exchanged between Favor and the woman after the incident show the suspect acknowledging that some type of sexual activity occurred between them, records show.

Days after the alleged assault, Favor deleted his social media accounts and searched his email inbox for the woman's name, which police deemed suspicious.

After his arrest, Favor reportedly refused to speak to investigators.

The suspect was investigated for previous cases involving sexual assault allegations.

Favor was arrested in 2018 for allegedly assaulting a woman in a Scottsdale apartment. That criminal case went to trial and the jury found Favor not guilty in 2020, records show.

Paradise Valley Police ask anyone with additional information about this case to call 480-948-7410.
