TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – Former Alabama football player and Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs was arrested early Sunday morning, according to Tuscaloosa police.

According to TPD Public Information Officer Stephanie Taylor, officers responded to the 1600 block of Mimosa Road around 5:28 a.m. Sunday. Buggs, 28, was charged with second-degree domestic violence and second-degree burglary. He was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail and is being held for 12 hours on domestic violence charges and on $5,000 bail.

Buggs, who was recently traded to the Chiefs last season, was charged with two counts of second-degree animal cruelty in May after two dogs were found hungry and dirty on the back porch of a property he rented in Tuscaloosa.

After his time at Alabama, Buggs was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019, playing for them until joining the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021. After one season with the Detroit Lions, Buggs was picked up by the Chief from Kansas City in 2023, where he currently plays.
