Fordham Heights: Police appeal for help in identifying man wanted in subway phone theft

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photos and video who they believe is wanted in connection with an identified robbery at the New York City Police Station. subway 182nd-183rd Street in Fordham Heights.


Police said the first incident occurred on Tuesday, June 4 around 11 a.m., while the victim, a 67-year-old woman, was waiting on the south platform of the 182nd-183rd Street subway station, which serves lines B and D was training, when she was approached by an unknown person who tried to snatch her phone. “The victim screamed and the individual fled without the victim’s belongings,” police said. “No injuries were reported during this incident.”

Police said the second incident also took place on Tuesday, June 4 around 1:30 p.m., when the victim, a 34-year-old man, was sitting on the south platform of the 182nd-183rd Street subway station, also serving the subway. . trains B and D, and was approached by a stranger who snatched his phone. “The individual was last seen fleeing on foot southbound on Webster Avenue,” police said. “No injuries were reported during this incident.”

Police said the suspect is described as male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, has a dark complexion, slim build and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a red cross on the back , white pants with a black stripe and light-colored sneakers.
