FLOTSAM AND JETSAM release music video for single “Primal” from upcoming album “I Am The Weapon”

Arizona Veteran Thrashers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have revealed the second single and music video from their upcoming 15th studio album “I am the weapon”which will arrive on September 13, 2024 via AFM files.

After the first single and the main title published previously, today we are entitled to the official music video for “Primitive”which can be seen below.

About the track, the band shares: “We are very excited to once again introduce Flotzilla to the metal community! This time it will take the form of our new single, 'Primitive'. With 'Primitive'we tried to capture the energy of the “punching in the face” that FLOTSAM AND JETSAM are known and mix it with a melody that sticks in your head for days… We hope our fans embrace it, because we are very happy with the outcome of this song and the new album, and we look forward to very soon !”

Alongside pre-orders for the album, in progress, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM also announced a reissue of their 2016 self-titled album, released as a strictly limited transparent 2LP.

“I am the weapon” Not only does it pick up perfectly where its two remarkable predecessors left off, but it also goes further in terms of musical skill and composition. As they fully exercise their core skills such as their aggressive style with fast tempos, “I am the weapon” presents more surprising moments than ever. Brutal, high-octane tracks like “I am the weapon” atmospheric but not ultra-fast “I burned my bridges”each track on the album is compelling in its own way.

The album was once again mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen with artwork designed by the band's long-time collaborator Andy Pilkington of Very metallic art.

“I am the weapon” track list:

01. A new type of hero
02. Primitive
03. I am the weapon

05. The head of the snake
06. Under the shadows

It's been 38 years since FLOTSAM AND JETSAMformed in Phoenix, Arizona, released their landmark debut album, “Doomsday for the deceiver”the only album to ever receive a 6K rating from the influential British magazine Kerrang! Bass player Jason Newsted I would leave the ship to METALLIC while the group was going out “No room for shame” in 1988. “Cuatro” (1992),“Derivative” (1995),“High” (1997) and “My God” (2001) still hold an extremely high place in heavy metal circles. But it was the first part of this unofficial trilogy in the 2016 film of the same name “Flotsam and Jetsam”followed by 2019's crushing successor “The End of Chaos” that a certain rejuvenation and reset was clearly felt.

In 2019, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM leader Eric “AK” Knutson said Glendale Star on the band's career: “We've been through a lot of shit. For a while, I had a line-up with me that was just together to go on vacation and then make the promoters pay. And that's kind of different now We're back to a real band striving to grow and become a bigger entity in the music industry. Our goal in writing a record is to release the coolest music possible. “The End of Chaos” hits the mark.”

Guitarist Michel Gilbert said: “We're making a little comeback. They're starting to revisit and buy the new stuff as well. We see a lot of young people at the show. They're in the front row, singing songs that were out 20 years before they were born. got everyone excited when we made the self-titled album. There's still that spark that power metal fans dig. A.K.the voice.”
