Florida thief gets 'butt kicked' after attempted carjacking, sheriff says

A Florida “Mr. Tough Guy” thief got his “butt kicked” by a 66-year-old man whose truck he tried to break into, authorities said.

The truck's owner called 911 early Thursday morning after hearing Blake Robinson, 29, trying to break into his truck outside his Brevard County home, authorities said.

The older man went outside to confront Robinson, who punched him in the head before throwing him to the ground and kicking him in the head, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said on social media social.

But the victim quickly sprang into action, punching Robinson and forcing him to the ground, where officers eventually found him.

Blake Robinson, 29, was “butt-whipped” by a 66-year-old man he tried to rob, Florida police joked on social media. Brevard County Sheriff's Office

“Officers arrived on scene and were able to quickly arrest Robinson, who appeared to be struggling to get up off the ground after being whipped on the buttocks by a 66-year-old man!” Sheriff Wayne Ivey wrote on Facebook.

Robinson was taken to hospital for treatment before being handed over to police. The victim only required short-term medical attention and was not seriously injured.

Robinson was charged with battery on a person over 65 and attempted burglary of a conveyance. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail on $30,000 bail.

“As for Robinson, he was lucky enough to be in Brevard County where he won a few awards for being stupid, including a chauffeured ride to a local medical facility to check on his injuries before arriving at his less-than-luxurious lodging at 'Ivey's Iron Bar Lodge!!'” Ivey wrote in the post.

“At the lodge, he was given a freshly laundered 2-piece set to settle in comfortably, before being shown to his sleeping area in our open floor plan.”

Robinson “was accused of punching a person over 65 who ended up kicking his butt!” the sheriff added.

“We hope you enjoy your stay at our lodge and as we like to say here in Brevard County, “Have fun and explore!!” »
