Florida teenager dies in mysterious circumstances after night out

A Florida teen's night out turned into tragedy earlier this month — and cops still don't know what happened.

Ava Hulett19, was hanging out with friends early on the morning of June 15 at a local hangout in Fort Meyers, Pelican Larry's Raw Bar & Grill. Things were going well until, according to Lee County Sheriff's Office, the teen had an undisclosed “medical incident” and had to ask an ambulance to come pick her up. She was not admitted to the hospital that day.

However, within hours of arriving at the emergency room, she was sent home with her mother who took her back to Estero, about a 20-minute drive away. But around 12:20 p.m., the mother found her child unconscious. An incident report from the sheriff's office revealed that his father performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived, but unfortunately, it was too late. Ava was pronounced dead at the scene. So tragic.

Law enforcement officials have not released much information about the mysterious case, but they have made it clear that they are treating it as a possible homicide as they investigate further. They also announced that “at this time, there is no indication that the company's personnel or its operations have caused any harm to their customers.” In fact, there are still no suspects. How horrible for his family to have no idea what happened, even seeing his death up close.

Horribly, Ava's death is the second loss of a child in the poor family during her teenage years. Their son Bradley was accidentally shot and killed in 2019. The police report on that incident says Bradley was at a friend's house when the group of boys picked the lock of their parents' bedroom. There, they found the father's gun – he was a Tampa police officer – and started playing with it. He was accidentally discharged and, unfortunately, the 15-year-old was shot, succumbing to his injuries shortly after.

Concerning the second tragedy, the family's lawyer, Anthony Rickmansaid in a statement to Tampa Bay Times:

“No parent should ever outlive their children and these two parents outlive two of their children. It's just horrible that they're going through this again. »

Ava's investigation is ongoing. It seems we don't know enough yet to rule anything out. But foul play is certainly on the cards.

Such an unimaginable situation for these poor parents. We hope they get answers soon.

RIP
