Florida teen stabs 2 victims during sleepover: deputies

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 16-year-old boy has been charged with premeditated first-degree murder, among other charges, after forcing his way into a home and stabbing two victims, according to the county sheriff's office of Sumter.

Authorities said the teen ordered both guns online Thursday.

Saturday night, around 10:11 p.m., the teen walked nearly six miles to the home of a 15-year-old boy in Wildwood who was having a sleepover.

According to authorities, the suspect arrived unexpectedly and “knocked” on the door. When the 15-year-old responded, the suspect forced his way inside and stabbed the boy.

An adult in the home went to see what was happening and the suspect stabbed him and threatened a third victim.

Emergency personnel rescued the two stabbing victims at their homes, who were then airlifted to nearby hospitals.

Deputies said the 15-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:19 a.m. The adult victim, aged 48, is still being treated in intensive care.

The motive for the attack is unknown.

Using a Sheriff's Office helicopter, the suspect, who fled on foot, was arrested and taken to the Sumter County Jail. The teen is charged with premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and armed burglary.
