A Florida man has appeared in court for the second time in connection with the murder of a woman and her child. The man accused of killing his two-year-old son and stabbing his mother was back in court this week for a second competency hearing.

Thomas Mosley appeared in court after spending six months in the state hospital as he was deemed incompetent to stand trial by a judge. However, Dr. Theresa L. Ascheman evaluated the defendant and testified that he was competent to stand trial.

Mosley has attempted suicide three times since 2019. The last time was in 2023, just before his arrest for the murders.

is accused of stabbing Pashun Jeffery more than 100 times in March 2023 in St Pete, Florida. She was found with a stab wound in her apartment.

Meanwhile, two-year-old Taylen was found a day later in a lake near Mosley's mother's house. Authorities said evidence places Mosley at both crime scenes.

Jeffery and Taylen's family wore t-shirts with photos of the victims as they appeared in court. Dr. Theresa L. Ascheman Jones revealed in court that Mosley was taking antipsychotic medications and medications for anxiety and depression during his stay at the facility.

He would have had hallucinations. However, she said he was quite logical and able to verbalize his needs.
