Five people rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Fort Lauderdale shooting

MIAMI – Five people were rushed to a local Fort Lauderdale hospital, where they are fighting for their lives, following a shooting Friday evening.

Fort Lauderdale police said officers responded to the 2300 block of NW 8th Street shortly after 7 p.m. regarding a shooting and when they arrived they found five people suffering from gunshot wounds.

All victims were transported to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

There was a heavy police presence, with at least 12 police cars, at the scene.

Police had cordoned off several blocks as detectives continued their investigation.

Authorities had not released any additional information.
