PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Five people are facing drug charges in separate investigations in Paducah.

Johnny Dewayne Thomas, 43, of Bowling Green, was arrested on a warrant charging him with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or subsequent offense).

Martigo Richod Matchem, 34, of Farwood Drive, was arrested on warrants charging him with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives).

Otis D. McKinney, 28, of Trimble Street, arrested on a warrant charging him with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or subsequent offense).

Jose Montrell Harmon, 37, of Parkside Drive, arrested on warrants charging him with two counts of trafficking in synthetic drugs (first offense).

Larena S. Cleary, 35, of Cruse Avenue, was arrested on warrants charging her with two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine; second or subsequent offense).

Several separate investigations by the Paducah Police Department's drug unit led to the arrests late last week of five people on drug charges.

The drug unit began investigating weeks ago.

In May, they asked the McCracken County grand jury for indictments against Johnny D. Thomas, Martigo R. Matchem, Otis D. McKinney, Jose M. Harmon and Larena S. Cleary.

Drug detectives, with the assistance of uniformed officers, began arresting the five people Thursday morning.

They were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
