Two days after the botched contract killing, she returned to the United States. West Midlands Police said today that efforts to locate her are “continuing”. Betro is not accused of any other attempted coup.

The two men who made the poor decision to hire a non-professional to carry out the murder are from Elms Avenue, Derby, and went on trial in April after denying charges of conspiracy to murder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. .

Nazir and Aslam, from Derby, were found guilty of conspiracy to murder following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court. Nazir was also found guilty of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, illegally importing firearms and perverting the course of justice.

Betro, on the other hand, remains at large. The jury was told the hit work could be linked to a dispute between two families and an incident at a Birmingham jewelry store more than a year earlier.

A lawyer at the trial described the scene that led her to live her life on the run. “She left the taxi but asked the driver to wait,” they said.

“She walked to Measham Grove. She was standing more or less where (the man she attempted to shoot) had stopped in his car the night before. She got out The gun. It might have been the same gun she had earlier. It might have been a different one. She pulled out the gun and took aim, then fired three shots. fire towards the house. In doing so, the bullets entered through the first floor window.

Betro is believed to have arrived in the UK from America on August 22, 2019 and stayed in hotels in Manchester, Derby, London, Brighton and Birmingham – including the Radisson Blu and the Rotunda – before the attempted shooting.

Prosecutor Kevin Hegarty KC said the history between the defendants and the target dates back to July 21, 2018, with an argument at a jewelry store owned by the victim, where the storefront windows were smashed and the interior was ” trashed.” When police arrived, Nazir and Aslam were lying injured in the back doorway.

Three days later their home in Derby was attacked. Nazir was charged with perverting the course of justice and arms smuggling in connection with an accusation that he tried to “entrap” a former friend.

Mr Hegarty said: “From his (friend's) account, they were both involved in cannabis cultivation, and both had fallen out. There was an argument, they were no longer friends and as a result of this argument Mohammed Nazir arranged for firearms and ammunition to be imported into the UK.

“This was done with only one purpose in mind. It was done with the intention of falsely implicating his friend in this importation. That was to entrap him.”
