Fire destroys Farmyard and True Value Rental store in Derby, Vermont

A fire destroyed a recently opened rental store in Orleans County, Vermont. The Farmyard Store and True Value Rental were devastated by a fire that broke out around 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to Derby Line firefighters. Crews on scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic of the building and were able to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported. The department said the building suffered significant fire damage, with part of the roof collapsing due to the fire. flames. The Farmyard Store's official Facebook page says the building is a total loss and will need to be rebuilt.
