A Cecil Township resident was displaced Saturday evening after his home was destroyed by fire.

Cecil Township Fire Company No. 2 was called to 62 Maple Street in the Muse neighborhood of the township around 10:45 p.m. According to Deputy Chief Patrick Tongel, the man and his dog escaped unharmed. .

Tongel said the State Police Fire Marshal attended the scene that night and determined a cooking incident caused the fire. This was ruled accidental.

The American Red Cross was called to help, according to Tongel.
