Fire calls: tree fire, RV fire and numerous fire alarms

FRIDAY MAY 17

• 4:18 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a tree fire on Highway 20, approximately 7 miles west of Blodgett.

• 8:20 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at an apartment in the 2000 block of Applegate Street. The cause of the fire was food burning on a stove. The fire did not spread and was extinguished upon arrival. There were no injuries. The damage was limited to the stove.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to calls at 6:30 a.m. (Pleasant View Drive) and 1:23 p.m. (North Ninth Street).

SATURDAY MAY 18

• No calls of public importance reported.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to calls at 8:25 a.m. (Penland Drive), 9:08 a.m. (North 13th Street), and 12:53 p.m. (Kings Valley Highway).

SUNDAY MAY 19

• No calls of public importance reported.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to a call at 11:13 p.m. (Pioneer Street).

MONDAY MAY 20

• 3:46 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 1400 block of Main Street.

• 11:31 p.m. — Emergency medical personnel responded to a law enforcement situation in the 1100 block of North Ninth Street.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to calls at 8:28 a.m. (Joseph Lane) and 2:45 p.m. (Grass Heights Road).

TUESDAY, MAY 21

• 10:10 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 1400 block of Main Street.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to calls at 7:36 a.m. (North 15th Street), 7:49 a.m. (North Ninth Street), 10:49 a.m. (Pioneer Street), and 7:51 p.m. (North Ninth Street).

WEDNESDAY 22 MAY

• 4:48 p.m. — Firefighters responded to an RV fire on Highway 20 near Woods Creek Road. The driver of the truck transporting the trailer unhitched it from the vehicle and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames until firefighters arrived. Highway 20 was reduced to one lane for approximately 20 minutes. See separate story.

THURSDAY MAY 23

• 11:45 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 24100 block of Cardwell Hill Road.

• 3:35 p.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid to the Corvallis Fire Department with support to Fire Station #1 at 400 NW Harrison Boulevard.

• 7:54 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 21000 block of Cardwell Hill Road.

Other calls: Emergency Medical Services responded to calls at 7:20 a.m. (Stovall Lane) and 11:12 a.m. (North Ninth Street).
