Fire burns more than 14,000 acres south of Tracy | News Tracy Press

A grass fire driven by high winds burned more than 14,000 acres in the hills south of Tracy Saturday and Sunday as it spread from Corral Hollow Canyon east to Bird Road.

Cal Fire reported the fire broke out in the area of ​​Site 300 of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a testing facility southwest of Tracy along Corral Hollow Road, at 2:39 p.m. Saturday. From there, the fire quickly spread through the hills south of Interstate 580 to Chrisman Road and Tracy Golf and Country Club Saturday evening.
