Finland exports cutting-edge weapons to Ukraine, including prototypes in development

Finland has supplied Ukraine with its most advanced weapons systems, some of which are still in the development stage, according to a senior Finnish military official.

Unlike many other Western supporters of Ukraine, Finland does not reveal specific details about its military aid to Ukraine. This admission is not in line with the Finnish government's usual communications, which traditionally provide only minimal information on the nature of military assistance offered to Ukraine.

Lieutenant General Mikko Heiskanen, head of armaments of the Finnish Defense Forces, revealed that exported weapons are not limited to old stocks but include the latest innovations of the Finnish defense industry, YLE reports.

Heiskanen said feedback on the use of Finnish products in Ukraine has been positive so far. He believes that the experience gained in combat use will prove invaluable for the development of future Finnish military technology. The general stressed that production reserves set aside by the defense forces for Finnish companies could potentially be activated to support Ukraine, pending political approval and additional funding.
