fight in north Reno leads to deadly shooting | News

A fight between two men in north Reno Wednesday afternoon resulted in a fatal shooting.

It happened on Comstock Drive shortly after 2:45 p.m., according to a release from the Reno Police Department.

When police arrived on scene, they found the two men involved. One of them was shot and was immediately taken to hospital.

Once there, life-saving measures were taken but he died from his injuries.

The second man remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The Reno Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Unit responded and determined it was a case of justified self-defense.

Authorities are withholding the name of the deceased man until his next of kin can be notified.

Police say there is no threat to the public.
