Fears grow over disappearance of 23-year-old mother as authorities believe she and her children were 'forced' to join strange religious movement

A KANSAS mother and her two young babies have been missing since Friday and police are asking for the public's help.

Martha Unger, 23, and her two daughters, Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1, were last seen on Friday, June 28.

According to a Facebook post from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, they were reported missing from their home in Haskell County, Kansas — about 32 miles south of Garden City — before 7 p.m. local time Friday.

Police believe Unger is driving a white 2015 Ford Explorer with Kansas plates, license plate number 301RJY.

Unger has brown hair and green eyes.

She is a white female, approximately 1.78 m tall and weighing approximately 54 kg.

Her two daughters have blond hair and blue eyes.

Police speculate that Unger and her daughters “may have been forced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation center,” the publication said.

They also believe they were accompanied by the couple Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen.

The couple, both in their 50s, may be driving a white and black Chevrolet Blazer with Mexican plates.

It's unclear what type of rehabilitation center they were headed to or where it is in Mexico.

Corney is a man, 1.88 m tall and weighing approximately 90 kg.

He is clean shaven and was last known wearing jeans and a button-down shirt.

Police did not give a description of Elizabeth, but they did share a photo of the couple.

In the photo, she has brown hair and they are both wearing glasses.

“Investigators wish to check on the well-being of Martha and her children,” the Kansas Bureau of Investigation wrote in its message.

They also encouraged anyone with information about their disappearance or whereabouts to call the Haskell County Sheriff's Office.

In Kanas, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, 420 adults and 263 children are currently missing.

One of the main pieces of advice the Bureau gives when someone goes missing is: “Don’t wait, especially if the missing person is vulnerable; notify the police as soon as you think something is wrong.

He advises reporting the person's disappearance to local authorities immediately and restricting access to their home, car and electronic devices.
