Fayetteville man sentenced to prison for drug trafficking

In April 2023, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a firearm, and a bulletproof vest were found in a storage unit owned by the man.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On May 20, a Fayetteville man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after being convicted of distributing methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Arkansas.

Between late 2022 and mid-2023, undercover agents purchased methamphetamine from Ulysses Bush, 44, and seized more methamphetamine from him during traffic stops in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

In April 2023, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a gun, and a bulletproof vest were found in a storage unit owned by Bush.

The purchased and seized methamphetamine was then submitted to the Homeland Security Investigations Crime Laboratory for analysis, where it tested positive for methamphetamine.

Officials say that between controlled undercover purchases, traffic stops and the storage unit, Bush was held responsible for more than a kilogram of methamphetamine.
