Father of missing 3-year-old girl in South Miami says child's mother took her – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

SOUTH MIAMI, FLA. (WSVN) – As police continue their search for a missing 3-year-old girl in South Miami, her father confirmed the child was taken by her own mother.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Shea Eminhizer was last seen Monday off Southwest 78th Terrace.

“South Miami police are requesting a [‘be on the lookout’] refer to a missing child alert in Florida,” a dispatcher said in radio transmissions. “She is 3 feet tall, weighs 40 pounds, has blonde hair and brown eyes.”

Police said the toddler was with Christine Betancourt, 41.

“Wanted for a 3-year-old white Latina girl,” a dispatcher said in radio transmissions. “She’s 5 years old.”[foot]-5, black hair and brown eyes.

Neighbors who did not want to go on camera said Betancourt was the little girl's mother and that her father lived along Southwest 78th Street.

Police said the two men may be driving a gray 2021 Volvo XC 90 with very dark tinted windows and Florida tag IEX419. The SUV also has very dark window tint.

“The subject should be considered armed and dangerous,” a dispatcher said over radio transmissions.

Authorities are urging anyone who spots the couple to refrain from approaching them and instead contact the FDLE's Missing and Endangered Persons Information Center at 1-888-FL MISSING (1-888-356-4774), South Miami Police at 305-663-6301 or 911.
